Park Farm Pumas - A (Brand New Team for the 2021/2022 Season Saturday League)
Park Farm Pumas - A Team were away to Pinchbeck Utd - A, turned up to a nice ground and the pitch was in great condition. Warm up was good and Park Farm Pumas looked up for this one today, the team went with a formation of 4-2-3-1. The Captain Ryan was away today so it was up to his brother Brad to lead the team to victory. With Pinchbeck's 1st Team not having a game it was a mixture of 1st Team/Reserve players in their lineup.
1st Half was shaky start and within the first 5/10 minutes some mistakes at the back gifted Pinchbeck with some free shooting practice but luckily for Pumas they left their shooting boots in the changing room. Once settled the game kicked into life and most of the play was down the left hand side between Shane, Jacob, Kinlan & Guesty, constantly opening up the opposition and multiple chances being kept out by their keeper. Both teams go in at half time 0-0.
2nd Half and Pumas are out of the traps, Emery plays a ball to Shane and he hits from distance and after a deflection its in 1-0 up. End to End football until on 58 minutes Pinchbeck get a corner! It's curled into the back post and the opposition player (8ft 9in) rises and nods in to make it 1-1 (no player was getting that high to compete). Game pushes on and at 1-1 the game was slipping away from Pumas with some slow passes through midfield which allowed Pinchbeck the upper hand, 83 minutes in and the distance between Pumas back line and midfield was quite big and after pinchbeck sliding the ball through midfield Brad tries to play a pass back to the keeper but was under weight and Pinchbeck run onto it and placed passed the keeper to make it 2-1. 84 mins in and Scott Kinlan gets a Sin bin and means Pumas have to see the rest of the game out with 10 men. Park Farm with 6 minutes to go push forward to try and get an equaliser but are caught on the counter attack and Pinchbeck nick a 3rd and that's the game done, had Pumas taken their chances in the 1st half it could of been a different game.
Match Ratings
Starting 11:
GK - Ryan Barret (7) - 1st game in the sticks for Ryan today and was at no fault for the goals. Distribution was good and made a world class save in the second half when it looked like it was going in the bottom corner but somehow got down and tipped it round the post.
RB - Michael-John (7) - Good game from MJ today, did what he needed to do in defence.
CB - Adam Emery (7) - Shaky start and had Pinchbeck been more clinical in the first 5/10 minutes could of see a couple of goals conceded for his team. Kicked on though and made some good tackles and a vital goal scoring clearance which was heading in.
CB - Bradley Bloor (7) - Brad was great today and lead his team with the captain's armband on. Numerous duals won but the best was his block after the Pinchbeck attacker took it round the keeper and Brad read the danger (if it wasn't for Brad's intervention it would of been a goal). A rare moment on the 83rd minute see him attempt a pass back but it didn't come off (under hit with weight), slow motion kicked in and the game moved in small frames to see Pinchbeck run onto the ball and slide it past the keeper to make it 2-1. Credit to Brad, picked his head up and the professional he is carried on and delivered the best he could to try and get his team to push for the equaliser. Can be forgiven today for 1 error in what has seen him shine in the previous 8 games without a mistake.
LB - Scott Kinlan (6) - Great 1st half today for Scott, linked up with Jacob and Shane to split Pinchbeck open down the left hand side. Second half lost his head and got a sin bin with about 8 minutes to go, needs to learn to control his emotions in tight games when the team needs him.
CM - Cameron Scott (7) - Much better this week from Cam to last, look comfortable on the ball today and constantly broke play up and put pumas on the front foot, always winning his duals in the air (big strength of Cam's).
CM - Thomas Bass (7) - Bassy in the middle again today with Cam Scott and the two link up well in trying to control the midfield. End product lacked today with some slow/misplaced passes but was excellent with breaking up play and some of the tackles he put in today were at the highest level, one being a goal saving tackle in the 1st half (a goal if he didn't get there).
LM - Jacob Martin (7) - Good 1st half and link up play with Kinlan, Guesty & Shane was a pleasure to watch (quick 1,2's & triangles), should of had a goal in the 1st half but their keeper was excellent today and made some great saves throughout the game. Not as affective second half and was substituted late on in the game.
CAM - Shane Macbeath (8) - Shane played as the CAM today and was constantly linking play from left to right and feeding balls. Great link up play between him Kinlan, Guesty & Jacob and could of grabbed a couple in the 1st half, kept going in the second half and grabbed his deserved goal.
RM - Tee-Jay (6) - Tee-Jay played on the wing today and worked the channels well in the 1st half and backed up MJ on defensive front when needed, went quite in the second half and was substituted on 61 minutes.
ST - Ryan Guest (8) - Ryan was given a start today after a poor show from the boys last week and he took it, was excellent from the minute the whistle went and constantly pressed the opposition to stop them playing out. The most productive part of his game was the 1st half which see him, Shane, Jacob link and split the Pinchbeck's defence, he played with a smile and a swagger today and demonstrates he can deliver. The only thing missing today was a goal hence the 8 rating, walks away with Man of the Match performance based on attitude, workrate and desire for his team.
Subs:
DF/MF - Annis Ajani (N/A) - Sub not used
CM- Ryan Parish (6) - Came on with 3 minutes to go and see out the game.
ST - Joshua Chapman (6) - Came on with 29 minutes to go in the striker role, tried to get into the game but looked leggy (not sharp). Came off with an injury to his shoulder but fitness/workrate will need to improve to be able to stake a place in the team.
AM/ST - Patrik Biros (6) - Came on with 10 minutes to go for Ryan Guest on the right wing and looked lively going forward, latched onto a perfectly weighted through ball from Shane but lashed at the shot and out it wide (had more time to compose and shoot).
AM - Nathan Rozasrio (N/A) - Sub not used
Man of the Match - Ryan Guest
Goals: Shane Macbeath (47th Minute)
Assists: Adam Emery (47th Minute)
