Park Farm Pumas - A (Brand New Team for the 2021/2022 Season Saturday League)
Park Farm Pumas - A Team were away to Nene Park Feeder FC at Werrington, Nene Park were undefeated in the 6 games (6 wins) they had played to date. Park Farm Pumas started slow as they seem to do (always seems to take 5/10 mins to get going) before settling into the game and played some nice football, no outright chances in the first half from either team and it settles at 0-0 at Half time.
Second half and Park Farm come out of the traps quick and some nice link up play between Bassy/Clarkey see Clarkey receive the ball from Bassy before hitting a screamer from about 35 yards out, it looked as though the ball was going over before dipping last minute and going in the top of the goal just under the bar (keeper had no chance) 1-0 to Pumas. About half hour to go and the ref (opposition management reffed the game) gives a dubious free kick for a clean tackle of the ball by kinlan and they go and score from it, the wall jumped and the player shot underneath the wall and it went in the bottom corner 1-1. The game finished level and although Nene Park nicked a draw Park Farm didnt do enough in front of goal over the 90 minutes to take all 3 points and on balance of play a draw was a fair result.
Match Ratings
Starting 11:
GK - James Anderson (9) - An excellent game from Ando today, distribution was outstanding and made some vital saves in the second half, no fault for their goal and was only one of a few that can be proud of his performance.
RB - Michael-John (6) - Poor game from MJ today and constantly struggle with pace from the oppositions winger, mixed communication between him and Jordan down the right hand side which created unnecessary pressure on the back line. Been good last 3 games so will take this one today as an off day for MJ.
CB - Ryan Bloor (8) - Great game from Ryan today and solid as usual, didnt make any mistakes and always read the game before it happened.
CB - Bradley Bloor (9) - Outstanding today and picks up man of the match for what was his best game to date, was everywhere. Composure on the ball was second to none, aerial won everything, spread the play from left to right and always overlapping with Ryan in harmony.
LB - Andrew Brooks (7) - Started the game in place of the injured Emery and first 5 minutes looked a bit cagey with seeing a ball played to him from Bassy and it went straight under his foot and out for a throw in, quickly got into the game and for the remaining 80 minutes was solid and made some key tackles/interceptions. Managed to keep pace with their striker in the second half which was impressive for a 38 year old.
LW - Scott Kinlan (7) - Kinlan kept his Left wing position as it was hard for management to drop him after bagging 6x goals in 2x games. First half put a shift in but limited options for the link up as other players were not in the right positions so almost was ineffective because of it. Second half continued to push but negative attitude prevented the free flowing game Scott normally can play, gave away a free kick for their goal (wasn't a free kick, great tackle).
CM - Lewis Clarke (8) - Great shift in midfield and was in sync today with Bassy and you would never have known there wasn't the 3 we normally see in centre midfield. Won everything in the air as he usually does and to top it off scored an absolute screamer from about 35 yards out.
CM - Thomas Bass (9) - Bassy yet again was the brains of midfield today and used his movement to close the pockets all over the park, constantly taking balls to feet and turning to play out left or right. The difference today was his forward play, there was a little spark everytime he looked up to go forward, little flicks and megs even surprised his team mates where on a number of occasions skipped past the opposition (team mates left still in amazement instead of anticipation of the play), grabbed an assist for Clarkey's Goal.
RW - Jordan O'Rouke - (6) - Following on from last week Jordan had the opportunity to push on against a good Nene Park Feeder but just didnt quite happen in the first half with a few mix ups between himself and MJ (just wasnt flowing), also seemed to lack confidence on taking the game to the opposition. Second half came out brighter and decided to go at them and from it created more options for the team, needs to regain confidence on the football he was playing earlier in the season.
ST - Tee-Jay (7) - Tee-Jay played in a striker role and did what we know he can do and held up the ball well but due to the free flowing football pumas decided not to play it made opportunity's limited, second half went to right wing and put in a good shift and tried to take the game to the opposition but wasn't to be today.
ST - Shane Macbeath (7) - Shane started bright in the first half and was constantly looking to break Nene Park's back line but a lot of forced play (didnt come off) from Shane today over the 90 minutes and a number of negative vibes from certain team mates seem to affect his overall play especially in the second half. Shane can be forgiven for an off day with his high standards he sets as he has lit up Div 5 since the start of the season.
Subs:
DF/MF - Annis Ajani (N/A) - Sub not used
AM/ST - Ryan Guest (6) - Came on with 25 minutes to go and had a chance to win the game when 1 on 1 with the keeper but put it straight at the keeper, either side and it's a goal.
AM - Kieran Wells (N/A) - Sub not used
CM - Ryan Parish (N/A) - Sub not used
